The challenge

When building the new Klus substation in Solothurn, the focus was on the maximum possible personal safety. The requirement was to facilitate uncomplicated maintenance and quick replacement in the event of damage in order to ensure smooth, reliable operation.

The solution

PFISTERER used plug-in modular solutions to make the transformers at the Klus substation completely safe to touch. Using CONNEX cable connections and surge arresters made it possible to create flexible earthing options and maximize surge protection. The detachable dummy plugs on the MV connections guarantee quick and safe maintenance, while the plug-in system also simplifies installation considerably.
